  • Yoga Community Steward, Founder

Three decades ago, Mia Ferrell embarked on a transformative journey to nurture her mind and body through the transformative power of yoga. She found her love for yoga as foundational movement while recuperating from an auto accident which put a halt to her ballet training. She began her Los Angeles based yoga studies with a regular Iyengar practice which quickly extended into Ashtanga as well. She soon found her mat in front of many of the world’s leading yoga teachers, including Shiva Rea, Kaliji, Seane Corn, Chuck Miller and Les Leventhal.

Today she stands as a dedicated yoga instructor and primary steward of Aryze Hot Yoga in Ashland. Guided by an unwavering passion, her mission is to educate and empower individuals through the art of movement, fostering a deeper connection with their bodies. Having previously worked as a massage therapist and now holding certification as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Mia possesses a strong foundational understanding of exercise, human performance, and their intricate relationship with the body’s structure and function.

Remaining deeply committed to her own practice and a steadfast learner, Mia recently furthered her training with Leah Shirley at Agni Yoga School in Portland in 2022. As she continues to explore the boundless realm of yoga and embrace its myriad possibilities, Mia ardently shares her expertise, offering support and guidance to the ever-evolving Aryze Yoga community.

  • Aryze Instructor, Yin Yoga

His first “yoga poses” were taught to him by a college sports medicine professor in 2012, and then he stumbled upon a Kundalini Yoga master in a metaphysical bookstore in Tulsa, Oklahoma while recovering from substance and religious addiction in 2014.

He has since immersed himself in the practice ever since, studying hatha, kundalini and yin “styles” with the focused intention to uncover the Self and explore Its limits. By chance, he was initiated into an ancient yogic lineage on Mt. Shasta and by developing his own practice with youtube and many other scriptures, was redirected towards a more traditional practice within the Sivananda lineage.

Studying and living at the ashram, in 2018 confirmed the need for a spiritually infused practice of physical and mental/emotional upkeep. He taught classes in Mt Shasta and opened his own studio in the Shasta Valley, from 2018 until the lockdown of the pandemic. Now, alongside a rekindled mala making meditation, he feels honored to share this deeply personal and profound practice of wholly health and wellness with a sense of community and collective creativity.

  • Yoga Instructor, Gentle Hatha Yoga

Ria found her personal yoga path in her 50’s through the encouragement of her three daughters, and as a side benefit, she found that it helped her through menopause with ease. Throughout her eight youthful decades of life so far, Ria has enjoyed sharing with people above all, and is not one for sitting still… so it only seemed natural for her to teach!

Ria first began teaching yoga to others in the 1990’s in the gym/fitness club environment. Her first Yoga Teacher Certification was in 2007 through Aura Yoga, and then again in 2016 through YogaFit. She has been a yoga instructor at Club NW in Grants Pass for the past 21 years, and teaches to small groups at a couple of her local churches.

She offers gentle beginning and intermediate Hatha Yoga and is personally committed to helping folks regain youthful vitality no matter what stage of life they are in. She finds that helping others find this youthfulness in turn helps her maintain her own.

  • Aryze Instructor, Yin Yoga

Gabby found yoga during her college years as a way to quiet her active mind and feel more grounded in her body. She quickly fell in love with the way it made her feel both physically, mentally, and eventually spiritually. Upon graduating college in 2019, she traveled to India where she studied traditional Ashtanga yoga and pranayama. After a few months of personal practice, she completed her 250 Hour Teacher Training in Ashtanga and Hatha yoga with Barat Shetty at IndeaYoga in Mysore, India.

Gabby taught yoga for a year into the pandemic; however, she eventually took a break to focus on her own healing. Here, she explored other modalities such as breathwork, yoga nidra, chanting and meditation. She is currently in the process of completing a breathwork certification program in Portland, OR and has just finished a Yin and Restorative Training with Yandara Yoga in Mexico.

Gabby loves weaving the philosophy of eastern yoga into her teaching. She is also fascinated by the intersection between psychology and yoga, and how we can use both to heal our minds and bodies. Gabby will be attending Pacifica Graduate Institute in the fall of 2024 studying Depth Psychology. Her intent is to eventually combine somatic work with more traditional talk therapy.

When she's not studying or teaching, Gabby loves to spend time with her Goldendoodle, Beau, hike, cook, and paint. Gabby is excited to teach here at Aryze Hot Yoga and looks forward to connecting deeper with the Ashland community.

In 2021 she attended a 200hr YTT at Yoga Landing in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she was trained in Hatha style yoga. Since then, she has found a love for Yin and Restorative practices.

Sarah believes movement is medicine. She also believes yoga is for everyBODY and is passionate about making yoga accessible for anyone willing to receive it. Sarah is kind, compassionate, and authentic. You can expect her classes to be fun, relaxing, intuitive, and inclusive.

  • Yoga Instructor, Hot 26 & 2

Sandy began her yoga practice in 2012 by diving into a 30-day challenge at a local Bikram studio. During this life-changing experience, it was revealed to her just how expansive the study of yoga and the Self could be. She continued her yoga studies and completed a 250-Hour Certificate in Vinyasa Flow to expand her ability to serve outside of the 26+2 series, as well as 200 hours certification in Hatha Yoga.

Sandy also serves as a yoga teacher trainer, soundbath facilitator, astrologer & bodyworker… offering tools to empower trauma release and transformational Soul growth.

Sandy’s passion for helping people align with their highest vibrational Self comes through in her teaching.
